This one right here is for the ragers…

If you have been following the trend of rap music then you most certainly have heard the names “Lil Uzi Vert”, “Playboi Carti” & “Trippie Redd”.

I actually think that XXXTENTACION has to get a mention there too seeing that he has heavily dabbled in the genre as well (actually he has dabbled in almost every existing genre).

These artists mentioned have changed the game and have become really influential to other upcoming rappers who want to try their hand at becoming the next big rap stars.

Their presences in the music industry is very highly appreciated and it suddenly seems like the game just won’t be the same if they had to die out.

But on the same note, their fans probably would be devastated to see them leave the punk realm, yet also excited to find out what other new tricks they have up their sleeves.

As a fan (a HUGE fan), I would have to say that you would need to be really open minded in order to like this type of music because it is not normal and it is certainly not what the average listener has on their Spotify playlists.

Ironically though, it seems that the wildest genre in the entire rap game is most listened to by introverts. Introverts have a reputation for being classed as “quiet” and “relaxed”.

Well, that is until you see their music collections…

How The Release Of “Whole Lotta Red” Influenced The Rap Game

The internet was taken by storm on Christmas 2020 when Playboi Carti released his long-awaited studio album, Whole Lotta Red.

The snippets that have been leaked and released by Carti were, for the most part, based on the style of his “Die Lit” album in 2018.

However, just like Lil Uzi Vert, Carti decided to ditch the songs that were leaked after performing a then unreleased song called “Neon”, only to find the entire crowd singing along with the lyrics.

“How the fuck y’all know that song?” he asked the crowd, surprised that confidential music was so well known by his fans that they knew the lyrics from start to finish.

He then decided to redo the entire album (although he kept Neon and then changed it’s name to “New N3on” for the album)

This time there were absolutely no songs on the album that had leaked, so the album’s sound totally took all of his fans by surprise.

The album was so unique that Pitchfork gave the album a score of 8.7 out of 10 on their website.

Is This “Punk-Rap” Style of Hip-Hop Here To Stay?

It has certainly grown in popularity and with the way that things are going, Punk-Rap will definitely be around for a long time to come.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, fans were all stuck in their homes, not able to go to concerts for a very long time.

So, in essence, it was actually a very smart move for Carti & Trippie to release music that could let their fans alleviate all of their frustrations from 2020 once they were allowed out of the shackles.

To the ragers,
